Hi guys

I know there's a DC Universe wallpapers thread, but it's over 550 pages, and even trying to use search parameters for that specific thread, I couldn't narrow it down much.

Anyways, I've got a laptop with a 1280x800 screen resolution. I was hoping to find some good Batman wallpapers, but all I can find on Google are The Dark Knight ones. Not that the movie isn't good, but I'd rather my wallpaper be seen as the comic, not just someone riding the movie bandwagon.

My favorite comic-like Batman imagery is like these:

Being that this is the Batman forum (so it's more specific), can anyone here recommend/link to me any 1280x800 comic-like Batman wallpapers?

Thanks guys!

I have picked up year one and the killing joke, so where should i go now? I was thinking of picking up the dark knight returns and the long halloween. Where should i go from those two books? the character of batman has so many great stories and i am kind of confused on where to continue

Quote:

5. 103.06 Batman #678 Rip* $2.99 Dc 103,213
#5 in the Top 10, not bad seeing as numbers for part 2 were lower.

It also looks like Robin's doing well

35. 53.8 ROBIN #175 RIP 53,880
and Detective:

18. 72.31 DETECTIVE COMICS #846 RIP $2.99 DC 72,417
The Joker's Asylum numbers are also solid for what seems to be focusing on the rogues gallery of Batman.

I'm looking for an intelligent, adult, dark batman story, preferably with the Joker in it (and other criminals as well), but where the criminals actually commit bad crimes, as opposed to the more child friendly/less realistic stories. In the real world, criminals brutally murder and rape people, so for a comic to be realistic, it should reflect such crimes (though the story doesn't have to have those specific crimes. In fact, more creative crimes, like the pictures joker took in The Killing Joke, are even more interesting).

Anyway, I'm looking for a dark, realistic Batman story, preferably with some romance involved too...

Basically just if you could please recommend your favorite adult-aimed batman comics, and say why you like them, please!

Gotham Central??
So I am currently on a tear of buying batman trades I pretty much have all the best ones from the Batman TPB Thread....And I just bought Batman/Grendel and Arkham Living Hell (which I thought was awesome), Kinda liked the fact that you feel batman's presence but hes really only in the book twice.

This is why i am drawn towards Gotham Central. So the question is have any of you guys read the series i know there are 5 books...your thoughts?

The first issue in November:

Two issues of BATMAN in one month! Now that ?Batman R.I.P.? has concluded, the aftermath begins! If you thought mastermind writer Grant Morrison surprised you with ?R.I.P.?, just wait until you see what he has planned for this retrospective story. In his last hours, Alfred the Butler tells the life story of the Batman as you've never seen it before in this two-part adventure which bridges the gap between the events of ?Batman R.I.P.? and FINAL CRISIS. Learn the secrets of Batman's early years! Witness the nightmare of a Gotham City where Batman never existed!

The second issue:

This special two-part tale narrated by Sir Alfred Pennnyworth reflects upon the life and times of Gotham City?s most celebrated citizen ? and hints at what?s next for The Dark Knight. Grant Morrison delivers a story of past memories, present heartache and future promises. A spectacular, unforgettable farewell to The Dark Knight, mixing memory, dream and speculation as Alfred closes the casebook on the greatest crimefighter of all time. With guest appearances by Batman friends and foes from every era of Batman's history, this epic adventure cannot be missed.

So, does Bruce Wayne die in RIP? Is this yet another tired, forced flashback to golden and silver age storytelling where the one character tells of a possible future or looks back on the past? Morrison seems very prone to doing something like that with his "all that's old is new again" jag that he's on. Or is it something else? With the follow-up story being called the Battle for the Cowl or whatever it is, it sounds like Bruce is going to be leaving the character. If he does, I will be leaving comics until he comes back.
